Meet the Dentists

Dr. Derek Kirkham

A native of Bountiful, Utah, Dr. Kirkham earned his bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He completed a one year general dentistry residency at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, then served two years as a general dentist at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota. After separating from the Air Force, Dr. Kirkham completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children's Hospital in Denver. He is an avid cyclist and competes in triathlons. Dr. Kirkham and his wife, Deanna, enjoy Colorado's outdoor activities with their four children.

 

Dr. Jeffrey Kahl

A native of Windsor, Colorado, Dr. Kahl earned his bachelor's degree at Colorado State University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at CU. He practiced at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and at the Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake, California, but remained interested in pediatric dentistry ever since he and other students got the chance to work at dental clinics in Romania. After separating from the Navy, he completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children's Hospital in Denver where he still works as a part time faculty member. Dr. Kahl, his wife, Carrie, daughter, Kaylee, and son, Preston, enjoy hiking and camping in the Colorado mountains.

 

Dr. Zachary Houser

Dr. Zach grew up in the small town of Springville, Utah. From an early age, he worked in teaching roles with children such as a swim instructor, piano teacher, and Boy Scout leader. He loves working with children. He and his wife, Amie, try to bring out the best in their two girls and two boys, all of who have lots of energy. Dr. Zach holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and dental degree from Case Western Reserve University. He also completed a one year residency in general dentistry with the Air Force and a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at The Children's Hospital in Denver.
