About the Doctors

Drs. Jeffrey Kahl and Derek Kirkham are pediatric dentists in Colorado Springs, CO, who specialize in providing superior preventive and therapeutic pediatric dental care to each child. Both doctors are board certified and maintain professional memberships with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Colorado Dental Association and the Colorado Springs Dental Society.

Dr. Jeffrey Kahl

A native of Windsor, Colo., Dr. Jeffrey Kahl earned his bachelor’s degree at Colorado State University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at CU. He completed a General Practice Residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and served at Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake, California, but remained interested in pediatric dentistry ever since he and other students got the chance to work at dental clinics in Romania. After separating from the Navy he completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at The Children’s Hospital in Denver. Dr. Jeff, his wife, Carrie, daughter, Kaylee, and son, Preston enjoy hiking and camping in the Colorado Mountains.

Dr. Derek Kirkham

A native of Bountiful, Utah, Dr. Derek Kirkham earned his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at CU. He completed a one-year general-dentistry residency at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and then served two years as a general dentist at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, S.D. After separating from the Air Force, Dr. Derek completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at The Children’s Hospital in Denver. He is an avid cyclist and competes in triathlons. Dr. Derek and his wife, Deanna, enjoy Colorado’s outdoor activities with their four children.
